- 2 oz Cleveland whiskey
- 1/2 oz fresh blood orange juice
- 1/4 oz raw cane simple syrup
- 2 dashes blood orange bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Ice cubes
- Blood orange slice, for garnish
Instructions
- Chill the Glass: Place your serving glass in the freezer to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
- Mix the Cocktail: In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Cleveland whiskey, blood orange juice, raw cane simple syrup, blood orange bitters, and Angostura bitters.
- Stir Well: Using a long-handled bar spoon, stir the mixture for about 30 seconds to properly chill and dilute the cocktail while keeping it clear and smooth.
- Prepare the Glass: Remove the chilled glass from the freezer.
- Strain: Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass over fresh ice to maintain a cold temperature without over-diluting the mix.
- Garnish: Cut a thin slice of blood orange and place it on the rim of the glass or float it on top of the drink as a garnish.
