- 1 whole fresh salmon fillet
- Lemon pepper seasoning to taste
- Garlic powder to taste
- Onion powder to taste
- 1/4 cup whole grain mustard
- 4 tbsp honey
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chives, finely chopped
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Crostini, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Take the whole salmon fillet and lay it out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper for easy clean-up.
- Generously sprinkle the salmon with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring an even coating for maximum flavor.
- Place the salmon in the preheated oven and bake until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), which should take about 20 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillet.
- While the salmon is baking, prepare the honey mustard glaze by combining the whole grain mustard and honey in a small bowl. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, create the aioli by mixing together the mayonnaise, chopped chives, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Once the salmon is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly to a safe handling temperature.
- When the salmon has cooled, pour the honey mustard glaze over the salmon, spreading it evenly to cover the surface.
- Place the glazed salmon on a serving dish. It can be served whole at the table or pre-sliced for convenience.
- Serve the salmon with the lemon chive aioli on the side for guests to add to their portion as desired.
- Accompany with crostini for a satisfying crunch and a complementary texture to the soft, flaky salmon.
