- 2 oz Premium Gin
- 1 oz Lillet Blanc, a fine French aromatized wine
- 1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse, for its complex flavor profile
- Absinthe, for a delicate rinse
- 2 dashes of Rhubarb Bitters
- Lemon peel, for garnish
Instructions
- Chill the Glass: Place your cocktail glass in the freezer to chill while you prepare the drink.
- Absinthe Rinse: Pour a small amount of absinthe into the chilled glass. Swirl to coat the interior and discard the excess.
- Mix the Drink: In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the gin, Lillet Blanc, and Yellow Chartreuse. Stir until well-chilled, about 30 seconds.
- Add Bitters: Add the rhubarb bitters to the mix, giving it another gentle stir to incorporate.
- Express the Lemon Peel: Take a lemon peel and squeeze it over the drink to release its essential oils. Rub the peel around the rim of the glass to infuse the fragrance.
- Serve: Strain the mixture into the absinthe-rinsed glass. Add a large ice cube if desired.
- Garnish: Twist the lemon peel over the drink to release more oils and then drop it into the glass as the final garnish.
