This brisket was a big reason my parents won the “Parents of the Year” award at my fraternity for multiple years.

This BBQ brisket is ideal for a family gathering, special occasion, or simply to satisfy your BBQ cravings. Enjoy it with side dishes like coleslaw, baked beans, or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 bottle Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce
  • 2 oz liquid smoke
  • 2 tbsp A1 steak sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Onion powder to taste
  • 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 beef brisket flat

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Brisket:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce, liquid smoke, A1 steak sauce, sugar, balsamic vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
    • Lay out a large piece of heavy-duty foil in a large roasting pan.
    • Place the brisket flat in the center of the foil.
    • Season the brisket generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Pour the prepared liquid marinade over the brisket, ensuring it’s well-coated.
    • Seal the foil tightly around the brisket, ensuring no leaks. This will lock in the flavors and moisture.
    • Refrigerate the sealed brisket overnight to marinate, allowing the flavors to penetrate the meat deeply.
  2. Slow Roast the Brisket:
    • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
    • Place the marinated brisket (still sealed in foil) into the oven.
    • Slow-roast for approximately 8 hours. The low and slow cooking process will tenderize the brisket, making it juicy and flavorful.
    • Carefully open the foil (be aware of hot steam), and pour your favorite BBQ sauce over the brisket.
    • Return the brisket to the oven, uncovered, and roast for an additional period to allow the BBQ sauce to caramelize slightly.
  3. Rest and Serve:
    • Once the brisket is fully cooked, remove it from the oven.
    • Let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring the meat is moist and tender.
    • Slice the brisket against the grain for the most tender eating experience.
    • Serve hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.
