- 4 ripe avocados
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 oz sour cream
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- 1 cup freshly grated Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1 can sliced black olives, drained
- 1 jar of store-bought salsa (such as Tostitos)
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your 9×13 inch pan where you will assemble the dip layers.
- Mash the avocados in a bowl, adding lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Spread this mixture as the first layer in your 9×13 pan.
- Whip the sour cream until smooth, which will make it easier to spread. Mix in the taco seasoning thoroughly. Gently spread this over the avocado layer.
- Sprinkle the freshly grated Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the sour cream layer.
- Add the sharp cheddar cheese as the next layer, ensuring an even distribution.
- Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the cheese.
- Add a layer of diced tomatoes, spreading them out to cover the onions.
- Layer the sliced black olives on top of the tomatoes.
- Finally, carefully spread the salsa over the olives.
- Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve with hearty tortilla chips that can stand up to the dip without breaking.
